The Lucio Gil de Fagoaga Foundation holds a wide and varied documentary collection, both because of the various topics of the documents, and because of their broad chronological line and the different places that the documents tell us about. This is due to the multiple actors involved in documentary creation.

The bulk of the Archive is made up of the personal documentation of Lucio Gil Fagoaga, (1896-1989), Doctor of Philosophy and Law and professor of Higher Psychology at the University of Madrid since 1923. Among other merits, he stands out for being the introducer of psychotechnics in Spain, creator of vacation courses for foreigners and founding a psychology laboratory at the University of Madrid.

A native of Requena (Valencia), Lucio Gil Fagoaga also preserved the documentation of his illustrious family, dedicated to the silk business and the management and administration of large farmlands.

Disciple of the intellectual Adolfo Bonilla y Sant Martí, from him he inherited his library and personal archive which include those of the composer Emilio Arrieta and the playwright and politician Adelardo López d'Ayala.

The Lucio Gil de Fagoaga House Museum

The Lucio Gil de Fagoaga Foundation has its headquarters at number 1 of the street dedicated to the painter Elías García Martínez from Requen, whose life spanned between 1854 and 1934.

Much of his professional development took place in Zaragoza where he combined his artistic work as a painter with teaching. His intervention in the restoration of the Calahorra cathedral and the decoration of the ceiling of the Teatre Principal de Zaragoza stand out.

Elías García street received this name in 1929, because previously it was known as Sant Lluís. This street, next to those of Sant Ferran and Sant Carles, were opened in 1791 making up a new apple of houses in Requena that connected the neighborhood of Les Penyes with the old town *Requenenses through the Ravals. The names of the streets pay tribute to King Charles IV, Queen Maria Luisa of Parma and the Prince of Asturias, the future Ferdinand VII.
