At first the Archive was on the ground floor of the Town Hall, where it suffered the floods of 1982 and 1987. It was moved to the first floor and the second, where a room was made available for the Archive next to the Plenary Hall
Later and due to archive space problems, it was moved; the historical part in the building of the Old Republican Casino and the administrative part on the second floor of the Casa de la Cultura.
Since 2004 Benimodo City Council has been a member of the Archives Service of the Commonwealth of Ribera Alta with 3 monthly modules and a total of 132 hours per year.

The oldest documentation dates from 1616 and is in the incoming correspondence series.
