Gavarda Town Hall is located on a large esplanade in front of the most central street. Inside the same building we can find the Municipal Archives. The archive, like the village, has not always been located in the same place. First, the archive was in the old town of Gavarda, in its Town Hall. As a result of the floods caused by the break of the Tous dam in 1982, the archive suffered damage and was at the expense of the transfer to the new location of the town and the Town Hall. In 1994 the new City Hall was inaugurated and the entire archive was moved to the second floor of the new building.
With the accession to the Joint Archives Service that began in 2004, the proper tasks of ordering, cataloging and classifying its documentation were carried out, which have continued up to the present day allocating 3 monthly modules with a total of 132 hours per year. Extreme dates 1871-2017.
