The archive was originally located on the first floor of the building of the old Sant Joanet Town Hall, within this building it has changed places. Before it was located on the ground floor and since 1997 with the rehabilitation of the building it is on the first floor.
In 2015, the City Council offices were moved to the Casa de la Ciudadania, at the same time moving the entire Municipal Archive Fund to the second floor of the aforementioned building.
With the accession to the Joint Archives Service that began in 2004, the proper tasks of ordering, cataloging and classifying its documentation were carried out, which have continued up to the present, allocating 1 monthly modules with a total of 44 hours per year.
