In the oldest part of Sumacàrcer, near the river Xúquer, around the Plaza Mayor, there is an old palace that belonged to the Counts of Orgaz and Sumacàrcer. It was ceded in 1991 by Gonzalo Crespí de Valldaura, to become the headquarters of the City Council. Since then, the Municipal Archive has been located on the top floor of the old palace. Previously, the Town Hall was located in the same square but in a different building, which currently houses part of this Municipal Archive, which was moved due to lack of space.
Part of the documentation was damaged by the collapse of the Tous Dam in 1982, leaving traces of mud that can still be seen today.
Adhered to the Archives Service of the Commonwealth of Ribera Alta since the end of 2004, he has maintained this service with 2.25 monthly modules with a total of 99 hours per year.
Since 2018 it has been integrated into the Online Archives System (SAVEX) of the Generalitat Valenciana and visible in the Opac.
